Finnish Wind Atlas - A Joint Venture of Experts

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy (MEE) ordered the Finnish Wind Atlas in 2008 and owns all result data of the atlas.

The project was coordinated by Motiva. After EU wide competitive bidding, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) was chosen to design and construct the atlas.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute used the expertise of Danish research institute Risö DTU in some parts of modeling.

Steering group

A steering group was formed to oversee the work. Erkki Eskola (MEE) chaired the group.
